Has an addiction

I am addicted.

to

Exercise.

Cleaning.

and

my new black stilettos from Ann Taylor
(80% off)

Admitting it is the first step right?!

I guess there are more unhealthy things I could be addicted to, and maybe I am but you will never know if I am, in fact addicted to something unhealthy, say cadbury mini-eggs, because I would never admit it.  Ever.

Will achieve 80 years long before 50 years

What? you are asking yourself, is she talking about.

Explanation.

This weekend was my grandpa's 80th birthday.

80 years is a long time to live.  A serious accomplishment.

He has done a lot of things in his 80 years.  80 years is definitely fit to be celebrated.

I hope that he lives for at least 20 more.

Of his 80 years living my grandpa has been married 58+ of them.  That is a lot of years.

That is where my thought of 80 before 50 comes in.

I will be 80 long before I am married for 50 years.  I know that shouldn't be a big deal, but sometimes I feel like I am being cut short on a lot of great years that I could be spending with someone by my side.

When I turn 80 and they do a picture presentation of my life over half of it will just be me.  No husband.  No babies.  Just me.  Boring old me.

I think I am getting old.  and maybe ornery.  just a little.
Good thing my grandpa is still so happy and aging with dignity to balance out my bad attitude.

p.s. these pictures were taken in the summer -- thus the tan and the sunshine.  Be assured that there is no sunshine or tan to be had here. I have a cold-sore so there will be no pictures posted of me at the actual 80th b-day party, unless I photo-shop them first.  Rough week.  No sun.  No tan. No husband.  No hope for a 50th wedding anniversary (or wedding at all at this point).  Only a cold-sore and snowstorms in March.  I'm ready for this month to be over.
Done & Done.

should be using these a little bit more

69 days to the Ogden Marathon and at the rate i'm going I'll be lucky if I run 69 miles total by then.

Gotta get on the ball.

Ran a 10k this weekend.  Why is the Rex Lee  run always like my worst race ever? Seriously worst.

Probably should have just run 16 miles like the training schedule said.

Actually, who am I fooling:  I can't follow a training schedule, I basically run long when I feel like running long and ride my bike when the sun comes out and do sprint workouts when I am tired of going slow and swim on the off chance I feel like putting on a swimsuit and smelling like chlorine all day.

My self-written training schedule could be summed up in one sentence:  Run as far or short as you feel like running if and when you feel like it.

Ridiculous.

I need the fear of running instilled back in me.  I do a lot better when I am actually worried about my performance instead of just assuming that I can make it 26.2 miles with one 20 miler under my belt.

Maybe I should look at my pictures from the last marathon and remember how I looked and felt like death warmed over.  That would be motivating.

Oh, and also I need a running partner that loves running at 5:00 a.m.  For real.  Any takers?

Has a Fetish. . . .

For A-line haircuts and Cardigans.

Yes, two things that it appears in my life I will never be without.

Cardigan:  knitted jacket that is fastened up the front with buttons or a zipper
A-Line Haircut:  A cut that is slightly longer in the front, closest to the face and shorter or stacked in the back, off of the neckline.

Number of Cardigans in my closet52 (don't ask me why I counted them. . . I just did (also, this number may be a little it on the liberal side, because I think I counted a couple of shrugs and sweaters that I would say are cardigans but they don't zip or button. . . more of an "open cardigan")
Number of A-line haircuts I have had in my life time:  I have no idea, because I haven't counted (and it would be weird if I had), but if I had to make a guess I would do the figuring like this.  Haircut every 8 weeks averages out to about 6 haircuts a year x the last 10 years of my life off and on = approximately 60 a-line haircuts - 8 times that I tried something different but always went back to the a-line and drumroll:  52 (what are the chances that I would get the same number?!) :)

Money spent on Cardigans:  Lots
Money spent on A-line Haircuts: Lots more.

Seriously, maybe I should start to think outside the box, and not dress like a mom since I am not one.

Just saying.

On the other hand I think I look great with an a-line haircut and what isn't to love about my 52 cardigans  in various, cuts, styles and colors.  You can layer with them, dress things up, dress things down, wear shirts that otherwise are too tight, sleevless, not cute enough etc. . . .

Maybe someday I'll change and start buying different clothes and getting different haircuts.
Probably not.

Sidenote: Thankfully I don't own any cats, because if I had 52 cardigans and cats. . . . that would be a sure fire garauntee that my left hand ring finger would be empty forever.

And yes, I'm wearing a cardigan right now.  It is pink and it zips and I love it (and I forgot I had it until I was counting my cardigans).
