needs to stay more up to date on my blog

So, I know that I haven't really posted any more exciting pictures of my trip to New York or anything else that has been going on the past few weeks. I am sure that you are all feeling really DEPRIVED and saddened by this. Not to worry. Someday soon I might find my bedroom floor, my car keys, my debit card, my plan book, my head. . . you know, just the basics. When I find all of those things and get my life put together I will update the blog. Until then -- Sorry! :)

loves these DVD's

So, about a year ago I first saw this fabulous set of DVD's put out by Scholastic and I fell in

LOVE

I searched and searched for it everywhere I went and even looked online to buy it, but it was too expensive. Then, one day in December I went to Costco (which I can't do very often for fear that I will buy lots of stuff I don't need) and low and behold they had my DVD's! I snatched those little DVD's up and put them right into my cart (which I am happy to say wasn't even full of stuff I didn't need).

They have provided me with hours of happiness.
Now, before you start to get nervous about my media choices and wonder what kind of an elementary world I live in the pleasure has come through sharing them with my kids at school and my nephews -- and probably it is more like minutes of happiness than hours. Truly though, I would recommend that anyone with children get these DVD's. They are all "books" on DVD and done really well. They even have an option to let you read along with the book.

I decided that rather than hand in a receipt and get reimbursed for my purchase I would just keep it and hope that someday I have children who can reap the benefits of my wise purchase.

Loves Lady Liberty. . . NY Post #2

As part of our adventures on day one of our New York trip we decided to take advantage of the uncharacteristically blue skies and take the Ferry out to see our very own
Lady Liberty!
We wanderered around the Island and posed with our friend the statue in the background.
It is fun to see the sKyLInE from the island and it was framed in beautiful blue skies.
Battery park wasn't as exciting without all the people trying to sell you knock of merchandise and there wasn't anyone there trying to serenade us or anything.
In all the times I have been to New York this is the first time that I have actually stopped and gotten off at the Statue of Liberty. I think it was well worth the time it took!

Rides the Subway like a Pro! NY post #1

We started our trip and enjoyed our adventures on the Subway. I was pretty proud of myself for figuring out the Subway Map! I don't think that we ever got lost or went somewhere that we didn't want to be. There were 8 of us all together and it proved to be pretty exciting traveling in mass. I will say that I was grateful to get back to Orem and drive my car to work on Tuesday morning!

Loves New York

A few of the reasons why I am excited to go to New York!

#1 -- Central Park in Winter!

#2 -- Lady Liberty

#3 -- Manhattan Temple (seriously, how cool is that to have a temple in the middle of NYC)#4 -- I hope I get to see this show (and maybe a few others) when I am in New York. Last time I was there I won the Lottery and got Wicked tickets. . . . we will see how lucky I am this year.

#5 -- Brooklyn Bridge : There is this sign on the bridge that says NO Salt Zone.....for those of you that have been to New York with me, you will understand why that is meaningful! "N O salt zone? what does that mean? "

#6 Times Square

#7 -- Seriously, enough said! There is nothing better than shopping in New York.
And with that said I should probably go pack my clothes! I leave tomorrow! I will be sure to post pictures when I get back. What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with girlfriends in New York City!

loves her new blog background and valentine decor

First of all a big THANKS to my friend Karen for her help in aiding me in my quest to LOVE my new blog background. She gave me the thumbs up on this new one. . . She is a faithful blog reader (and I think should soon be a blogger herself), and I love that she keeps up on my life through reading my blog and then actually talks to me about what I post. True friend for sure.

I feel like this blog background is just valentine enough for me to not want to gag and yet still says February with the pink/heart motif.

And to all of you who were worried about me when you read my "I Hate Valentine's Day" post, rest assured that it is all going to be okay. I actually decorated for this month of love before February even started. Yes, I put up my
pinks
reds
flowers
hearts
and such on Saturday afternoon. I even pulled out the pink and white dishtowels.

Seriously I felt
LOvE
loVe
LovE
the minute I put them all up. Then, I think it was good karma because surprisingly (and refreshingly) I had a blind date on Saturday night and it was actually a success (well I guess we will see if it was a success depending on if he calls me again or not). Either way, I think that I was being rewarded for my efforts to have a positive attitude. Seriously, if that is the case I am going to leave my valentine decor up all year round!
