Stopped waiting for snow. . . .

Over Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend I had a Friday and a Monday off from school.  I kept on hoping that it would snow so that I could go snowshoeing or maybe even cross-country skiing, but no such luck.  So, I decided to stop waiting and just get out and do.  There was a little bit of snow in the canyon, but not enough to stop us from hiking.  The sun came out and it was a really beautiful day.  I have never been hiking in Mapleton Canyon before, but I think I'll for sure be going back.  Anna and I decided that it probably wouldn't be the best canyon for x-country skiing (too steep), but maybe, just maybe if we get ANY snow this year the snowshoes can come back out and we can go on a real adventure trekking through the hills.

I am just showing off my really long femur in this picture (I am not sure why we were talking about this as we hiked, but Anna was fascinated by the fact that I am super short but apparently with a longer femur than her).
