I am going to spare you all the pictures, because I don't really want them to be remembered or pictures easily accessed by anyone in the future.
A cankle is defined as:
an obese or otherwise swollen ankle that appears to blend in with the calf, leaving no ankle definition.
Thankfully, my cankle is currently present because of swelling.
Not so thankfully, a piece of bone is chipped of of my ankle, thus making the cankle appear.
Also, not so thankfully, the doctor said it could be a "couple of weeks" before the swelling and bruising is gone.
Thankfully, for 1 week of that time period I will be at girls camp and have to wear long pants anyway, so hopefully by the time I am ready to pull back out my summer skirts and sandals the cankles will be long gone and my very attractive legs will be back, with ankles present.
Funny the things you take for granted (like your ankles) until you don't have them anymore.
I'll post about the "cause" of the cankle when I am not so tired (or still fuming about the bike crash that "caused" it).
Honestly, just grateful that the cankle and a little chipped off bone is the extent of my injuries. Could have been much worse. . . . like my collar bone, and we all know how much I love collar bones. Seriously, I would still be crying if something had happened to my gorgeous collar bones, you can't cover those injuries up as easily.

Oh! That sound really painful! I hope it isn't really serious. Glad to know that the cankle will be disappearing soon.

So sorry about the chipped bone! Yuck. What a jerk that ran into you! How are you going to do girls camp on a hurt ankle?
I'm feeling your cankle pain. Okay, so my cankles don't actually HURT, but my feet and ankles have been so swollen that honestly my toes got shorter because they were swallowed by my feet!
But finally yesterday, my swelling went away and I am amazed at how thin and shapely my ankles are! I appreciate them now more than ever. I keep looking at them and saying to myself, "Oooh la la self! Those ankles are smokin' hot!" And you will too. It just takes time and patience, which we all know you have buckets of :)
Oh and also, once all the swelling went away, I lost 10 pounds. Seriously. 10 pounds of water weight. That swollen. If only the next 10 pounds came off that easy! ps. don't you just love my excessive use of exclamation points!
I love how your biggest worry is how bad the ankle looks more than how it feels! A girl after my own heart! I'm glad you are okay, even though your shoe selection may be limited for a short time!
Yikes, hope the swelling is down and wasn't too painful duirng girls camp. Can't wait to see you!
Oh Amber I hope you are ok. That doesn't sound like fun. I do feel your pain. I had cankles for 2 weeks after I had Atlee. I seriously thought I would die! By the way, love your arm muscles in the Adventures in Logan post. I wish my arms looked like that! Take care.
